3 Signs That Your Partner Is a Pathological Liar

Well, as determined by various experts and specialists in the field, a pathological liar is someone who might have a history of lying and dishonesty without having any real logical motive or reason. And that’s why it’s very stressful whenever you get into a relationship with a person who happens to be a pathological liar. You’re going to end up questioning your own sanity and reason a lot. You might be tempted to think that you’re crazy.

However, you need to keep in mind that a pathological liar is just going to lie for the sake of it. They aren’t really there to try to convince you that you’re just being crazy or illogical. They’re not there to manipulate and deceive you for their own selfish reasons.

If you happen to be in a relationship with someone who is going to lie just because it’s already been ingrained into their system, then it’s likely that you’re in a relationship with a pathological liar. They might not have any intentions of hurting you or damaging your spirit – but it can still be very dangerous to stay in a relationship with them.

You’re going to end up feeling very tired, confused, and frustrated. You are going to have to be dealing with lots of emotions amidst all of the deceit and deception. That’s why you always want to make it a point of determining whether you are in a relationship with a pathological liar. It might be better for you to just get out of the relationship entirely.

Here are a few signs that your partner is truly a pathological liar.

1. They do such a good job at making it seem like they’re not liars.

You have probably already read a few articles and pieces that are designed to teach you to spot out some basic signs whether you’re dealing with someone who is lying to you or not. You might have been taught to notice if their breathing is labored, if they’re blinking too much, or if they’re maintaining eye contact or not.

But the sad news is that none of those signs are going to apply to someone who is a pathological liar. They are really good at lying and they are fully aware of these very basic behavioral signs that a person might be lying. That is why as a result, they have learned to just do the complete opposite of what people typically look for in a liar. They won’t really subject themselves to typical lying behavior and they will make it difficult for you to spot them out.

They are so good of just acting the same way regardless of whether they are lying or not. They might be telling the truth and they will be acting a certain way. And they might be telling a lie while acting in the exact same manner. You would never be able to tell.

2. They are always confident about what they say even when it isn’t the truth.

You might think that pathological liars are lying for a reason. You might think that they’re deliberately trying to deceive you and divert you from the truth. They are actually convincing THEMSELVES that what they are telling you is the truth. They are determined to just create completely different realities for themselves. And they will try to convince you of their own manufactured versions of reality as well.

That’s why nothing really changes whenever you happen to catch them in a lie. They are convinced that they are telling the truth all of the time even when they are clearly living in a delusion. You might have caught them red-handed, but they still won’t be convinced of anything that you might say. In fact, they might even turn the whole situation around on you.

They’re going to appear as confident as ever even when they’re already lying to you.

3. They can be very manipulative in a subtle manner.

A pathological liar can be a very manipulative individual. However, the dangers that they pose with their lying can be very subtle. And that’s why it would be really hard to see how manipulative they can truly be.

The reason that the kind of manipulative behavior that they engage in is so subtle is that they don’t really intend to be manipulative. They might be trying to convince you of a fantastical lie or an idea. And you might see it as controlling or manipulative behavior, but it’s them just being themselves.
